Wall Painting Designs

Home is the place which gives you feeling of warmth and comfort after a long tiring day. The wall paint colors can make your home look elegant or funky as per your desire. It has been proved that colors of the walls affect us psychologically. Some colors gives warmth will others provide cooling effect. Since the wall color room can be changed easily so it is considered as the best way of experimenting with different interior ideas. There are various types of wall paint design available in the market which you can incorporate in your home to give it a complete makeover. Wall stenciling is one of an interesting wall painting technique which uses cutout or templates to create a design. Later on these stencils are removed and the pattern remains there. You can create any type of pattern through this technique like stars, animals, flowers and many others. This process if very simple and will make your walls look entirely different.

Another type of wall painting design is faux painting which actually means false painting. In this type of design you can create an illusion of materials like marble, granite, wood and others using the paint. Rubber stamping is another cool design which is fast, easy and above all looks impressive. Besides these you can also go for accent walls, stripes, trim, graphics and many others. No matter whatever design you may choose but always go for the right type of color which suites the pattern and also goes well with the overall looks of the room. Avoid very bright colors until and unless you want to make the walls as the focal point of your rooms. It is always better to go for the neutral shades of your choice.

I'm trying to find out a site where I can research prices of Antique wall clocks?

I have an antique vienna wall clock trying to find out type and value. Looks familure to gustav becker clocks. Mantle piece on top has a distinctive lians head (circle) protruding in center of wood plus it has a picture of what looks like a nun or a biblical woomen in center of primary peak (in Mantle) I estimate that it is from 1880-1900 time frame. Anyone heard of such design? or know of anyone who may, can send picture.

Can you use Gouche, Tempura, or Acrylic paints on a wall?

I have a design I would like to paint onto one of my walls,I have gouche, tempura, and acrylic paints but I would prefer to use gouche paints because the colour should be uniform. but I am after trying a first coat, and it is not coming out uniformly like it should on paper. Is there something wrong? will I have to use another type? or will I just have to put on another coat?

And if this doesn’t turn out right, can I paint over it with normal wall paint or will I have to sand it off or something?

What type of Victorian or Hollywood Designs can I apply to my bedroom? (Details inside)?

My bedroom is not very big, but I have enough room to design a bit. I was wondering what type of paint for the walls, possible art, posters, etc. may go well with a red rug. I cannot change the rug because we are renting the house, but I want to re-do my room. I’m 21, I love vintage film, and I was thinking simplicity but a "wow" effect. Please help.

Is it OK to have white & oak baseboards in the house? How do you make a smooth transition in an open design?

Our foyer, hallway, & dining room have oak baseboards and oak trim around the doors and the door frames. The problem is the house is an open design so the hallway goes into the kitchen and family room, sharing one of the walls. The baseboards and trim in the kitchen and family room are white. I want to keep the white baseboards in those rooms but I like the oak in the other rooms. Would white baseboards look OK butting up against oak door frames? If not, is there a way to make a smoother color transition on the shared hallway wall where oak goes into the kichen corner where the trim is white?
If I paint the trim around the door, would it look OK to leave just the door frames/jamb oak?
Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated. I’m going to be putting in a new floor and when I put baseboards back up I want to do it right the first time.

Is it a bad idea to let a tattoo artist draw an original tattoo design if you don't want anything on the wall?

Let’s say he’s one of the top tattoo artists in your city; you’ve seen his work, he works in the best tattoo shop in the state, and he’s done some of the coolest tattoos you’ve ever seen in person. Do you just tell him, "draw something up" as long as it’s a cool design and "go with it"?
